Sitting for Hours While Dining at a Restaurant is a Considerably Inappropriate Habit
Some say that restaurants and coffee places are renowned as publicly accessible [1], which makes them eligible to study and sit for hours[2]. A few months ago, there were some students studying at fast-food place[3] and one of the students asked someone eating next to them to be quiet[4]. The news went viral on social media and it was highlighted by Indonesian netizen which had been widely criticized [5]. The event happened in one of the most popular fast-food restaurants in Indonesia.
As a writer, I am strongly against those people since I believe sitting for hours only makes people not able to get a space to enjoy their meals [6]. A bunch of people like to sit for a long time in restaurants or cafés night and day. Nonetheless,[7] there are three main reasons why they choose to stay for hours[8] even though their meals are already finished.
First, it is free wifi that everyone needs[9] because data cellular is pricey. Meanwhile,[10] not many of us have wi-fi in our places. We always rely on wi-fi places, so restaurants and cafés would be a great deal. However,[11] it would not be a great deal for hungry people whose opportunities are taken by those wi-fi seekers[12].
Second, it is a play time, which means you can sit for hours[13] because some restaurants and cafés provide mini games. In fact,[14] some of the visitors keep playing their games which make them stay longer[15] even the dirty plates are already picked up by the waiter. This situation makes the places out of space, which means there will be a limitation in term of number of chairs[16].
Third, visitors are freaking smart to think economically. There is no minimum amount of transaction in some restaurants and cafés, which means decreasing the expenditure[17]. Indeed,[18] there is no time limitation for sitting which means you will be able to sit there for hours[19]. With a small-sized french fries or even just a cup of plain tea can make you own a space.
They do not even want to know whether someone feels hungry and needs space to eat his meals or not[20]. People could not avoid this trend because sometimes it happens to us. What can we do when the selfishness is over the attitude?
